According to Wikipedia, “Inbound Marketing refers to marketing activities that bring visitors in, rather than marketers having to out to get prospects’ attention. Inbound marketing earns the attention of customers, makes the company easy to be found, and draws customers to the website by producing interesting content.”
I know Wikipedia isn’t a very reliable source, but I’m going with it, this time.
In my short time as a Marketer, I’ve found that the greatest feeling is when inbound marketing tactics are effective.
It’s comparable to the feeling you get when a Jesus-loving hottie winks at you from across the sanctuary during communion;
Or the feeling you get when you see your food coming at a restaurant;
Or the feeling you get when you have a friend over for dinner and she brings a surprise bottle of wine.
The. Greatest. Feeling.
But inbound marketing isn’t as easy as we would like it to be.
I learned a lot from http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/inbound-marketing-strategy-not-working about how to make inbound marketing efforts more effective!
My favorites are:
- Know what you want to accomplish.
- Have specific goals.
- Find the right person to build a solid foundation.
- Align inbound and outbound efforts.
All of these tips center around understanding and having a clear vision for what you want to accomplish with your marketing efforts.
